Michigan Key Chain
We have developed eco-friendly key chain map of Michigan with the heart in Grand Rapids.
It is made from natural discarded and recycled cow horn crafted by Peruvian artisans. We designed with the artisan based on their technique, tradition and tools experience.
Every piece is unique due to the shade of the horn, after boiled and melted, each piece has been hand cut, molded, carved and polished to bring out the natural horn color and texture in a brilliant finish.
Size: 2" - 2.5"~
Color: variable natural coloring ranging from black, dark brown, beige, tan and white.
Materials: Earring is recycled, polished bull horn. An ideal substitute for the shells of turtle which is endangered.
Production: Preparing to work the bull horn is arduous. This piece took approximately 2 days by a single family workshop to complete. All production was done in the suburban of Lima region of Peru.
Carbon Footprint: The production and transportation of these pieces resulted in 9 pounds of CO2 emission, roughly equivalent to driving 10 miles in a car. This is a Carbon Zero product as its footprint has been offset through the purchase of carbon credits.
Each of our pieces is handmade by a single family of Peruvian artisans. Having known them for years, we’re happy to build a working relationship on the spirit of fair trade and friendship. The price you pay assures a fair living wage for the artisans involved in production.
