Forest Carving Gourd Birdhouse

I am a natural gourd BIRDHOUSE, the perfect house for our feathered friends who built a nest (see the second picture). I was handmade by Peruvian artisans using techniques carried down from generation to generation.  I am painted, dyed, carved out floral, relieved & varnished to resist weather conditions. After a few seasons for our feathered friends, I will decompose naturally and return to Mother Earth.

Every birdhouse gourd is one of a kind depends of its shape, size, and handmade design.

Ps. All our gourds are biodegradable, so when you consider that it’s time for its second life, please bury it in the ground (including the wood Shaquira), it will help as fertilizer and nutrients for the soil.

Materials:  Birdhouses are made from natural bottle gourds, chaquira and wooden stick for bird to hold

Production:  A dozen of birdhouse takes 1 week to complete, without considering growing, picking and sun drying process. Gourds are grown and dried in Northern Peru and crafted in home workshops in Lima & Huancayo, Peru.
