It’s been awhile since we last blogged so I’ll take this opportunity to recount some of the news and projects we’ve been working on these past few months. As a lot of you already know, we’ve recently entered one of Mexico’s largest department stores having our Christmas ornaments in some 15 stores across the country. It was a large order that taught us a lot about teamwork and also how NOT to work as a team. Through the normal arguments and frustrations we realized that we can work with our artisans and fill large orders with their amazing products.
Along with Mexico, we’ve expanded into the US, specifically into the Denver area. We’re grateful to be in Wild At Heart, an eclectic clothing store located in the Belmar shopping area of Lakewood. And most recently in Fancy Tiger, a hip accessories store on Broadway. Denver natives, please go and ask to see our things!
These past couple months have also been good to us in terms of press. The University of South Carolina printed a nice article on our business and the emerging sustainable products economy. A big thanks goes out to Dru and the Moore School of Business. We were also featured in Reforma Newspaper, one of the most circulated in Mexico. Coming this fall will be some great articles in DSM Magazine, ITESM’s Exatec Boletin and InStyle. So be on the lookout!
Finally, this may be good or bad news for you: the Christmas season is nearly here. In November, we’ll be sponsoring a tree at the Iowa Festival of Trees & Lights to benefit Blanks Children Hospital. With a little luck, we’ll also be expanding to several more cities and to cover the rest of you, an online store with Etsy.com. News and details, like always, will be posted on Facebook/Twitter.
We thank you all for your patience as we work through some of these small-business growing pains. We thank those of you contacting us with comments & suggestions. All the best this beautiful autumn and cheery winter!
